Originally Karel Peeters and his wife Christiane started out as a bakery, which became one of five Belgium's largest in 1980, producing 9000 breads per night. Delivering to bakeries, hospitals and rest homes.
In 1983 a separate department was also set up for the production of chocolate products, with the purpose of producing special, exclusive and high quality products.
Only the finest natural ingredients are used, all chocolate products are handmade, keeping true to the traditional methods.
We are honoured to say that we have been manufacturing and supplying the Belgian chocolate products to the prestigious warehouse Harrods in London since 1992.
Today, Chantelly employs about 10 chocolatiers who are mainly recruited at the famous Antwerp Chocolate Academy.
On the occasion of our thirtieth anniversary, a giant chocolate eal was made with a weight of 920 kg. Good for a place in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest praline in the world.
